This year it will be four years since Jeanne Woodyard, former pastor David Woodyard's wife passed away. She also was a 4th grade teacher at West Elementary for many years. As many of you know Jeannie was a driving force in our children's program when she started God's Kids. Many children over the years sang or participated in the musicals directed by Jeannie. God's Kids has now changed into Cool Worship under the direction of Audra Sutton.
Because of the many things that Jeannie Woodyard had done for the children of our church, a committee was formed to find a fitting way to honor her memory. Many possible ideas were presented. After careful thought, the committee agreed to form the Jeanne Woodyard Memorial Fund here at Wayne Street UMC. The fund will be used exclusively for Cool Worship needs. They are currently in need of a digital camera and would like help with their end of the year pizza party.
On Sunday, April 10, a special collection will be made to begin the fund. Cash donations as well as checks (made out to WSUMC with J.W. Memorial Fund in the memo line) will be accepted. This fund will be our special way of remembering what Jeanne Woodyard did for our children. Please give generously.
