GRAND LAKE HOSPICE NEEDS VOLUNTEERS
Grand Lake Hospice wants to provide you with an opportunity to find your “whole self” thru volunteering your time and talents. One very important aspect to every Hospice is the support of volunteers. Volunteering is very rewarding and can be life changing for many people. Volunteering for Hospice does not always mean sitting at the bedside of a dying patient. Although this is one very important aspect of volunteer work, there are many other ways to serve.
Other volunteering opportunities at Grand Lake Hospice are:
Running errands
Administrative assistance-answering phones, computer work,
making phone calls
Crafting-scrapbooking, card making and sewing
Videographer
Fundraising
Patient related care-respite for the family, prayer and patient
needs
Bereavement
Grand Lake Hospice also provides the Healing Memories Bereavement support group that meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the Grand Lake Hospice, 1122 East Spring Street, St. Marys at 3:30pm. This support group is open to the community and is free of charge. You and your family do not have to have had hospice services to give of your time or attend any meetings. Please call Julie Jacobs, Grand Lake Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, with questions at 419-394-7434.
What is a Prayer Walk? It’s believers stepping into the community to pray effectively for their neighbors. It is going BEYOND THE WALLS of the church to pray with our eyes open to real needs and our ears open to the promptings of God’s Spirit. It’s finding out what we can do FOR our community by being IN the community.
The prayer walk ministry continues. One will be held the first Saturday of each even numbered month (February, April, June, August, October, December).
We will start with breakfast at 9:00am in the Fellowship Hall. After our bellies are full we will have worship music to get our minds focused on God. At approximately 9:45am we will head out to the streets and neighborhoods surrounding the church. Mapped routes have been made for each group. Each route will be approximately 1 mile.
Bring children and babies in strollers. For those who are unable to walk please let us know you would like to participate and we will have drivers lined up for you. We want it to be comfortable, convenient and easy for ALL to participate. New routes will be made and new areas prayed for. We want to win our community for Jesus!
Let’s wrap the entire city in prayer!
Please consider giving this adventure in prayer a try. There is nothing more powerful we can do for our community than to pray for it.

MEMBERSHIP / CARE COMMITTEE
The Membership/Care Team needs your help. It has come to my attention that there are some of our regular members who are missing for one reason or another. When you are in church on Sunday, if you notice that someone who regularly sits near or next to you has not been there for a couple weeks, please give me a call or make a note on your attendance sheet so that we can follow up. You have all been very supportive of anything that I have asked in the past, and I hope you will all take this upon yourselves to help with this situation. We can’t do this alone, so I hope you will all help. Thanks and God Loves You All. Barb Fitzgerald 419.394.5980 or 419.953.8708.

Family Life Center Needs Your Printer Cartridges
The Family Life Center is still collecting printer cartridges and cell phones that will be turned in order to be able to purchase other inject cartridges for the center. Currently we are accepting any and all cell phones and only HP and Lexmark printer cartridges. There is a basket on the missions table for the cartridges and the cell phones. Every cartridge helps us. Over the last five years we have earned over $1300 in which to buy cartridges and other office supplies. Instead of recycling them to the companies, give them to us where they will make a real difference

DIVORCE CARE FACILITATORS
Have you ever walked through the difficulty of divorce as an adult or did your parents get divorced when you were a child? Do you have a passion to help adults or children who are currently walking through this difficult time? If so, consider serving in our DivorceCare ministry for Adults or DivorceCare 4 Kids program. We hope to launch these much needed support groups in January and are looking for Adults who can co-facilitate these meetings. Training will be provided. If you are interested, call Pastor Jon at the church office.
